About Shea Kuhn

Shea Kuhn is a founding partner of the law firm of Kuhn & Kuhn, LLC.  Along with her husband, John, she felt that a lot of people need sound estate planning advice.  They know that everyone needs a thorough, well-developed estate plan that covers all contingencies; moreover, it should always work.  So they formed their own law firm to provide this service to everyone at a reasonable price.

Education

Shea and John met as undergraduates at Vanderbilt University, while both were English majors. Shea graduated Vanderbilt with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, after graduating high school from Ashley Hall School in Charleston, South Carolina, where she was born and raised. Shea and John were married in 1990 in Charleston.

Mrs. Kuhn earned her Juris Doctor degree from The University of South Carolina School of Law in 1994. She was Editor-in-Chief of the University of South Carolina Environmental Law Journal. She was also a member of the Environmental Law Moot Court Team and in the Legal Writing Honors Program.

Experience

Mrs. Kuhn was then Law Clerk to the Honorable C. Tolbert Goolsby on the South Carolina Court of Appeals, in Columbia, South Carolina. The next two years Mrs. Kuhn served as Law Clerk to the Honorable A. Victor Rawl, Presiding Judge of the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of South Carolina, in Charleston.

Shea is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and the Charleston County Bar Association. Shea also serves on the Parents Council at Charleston Day School and is very active at both CDS and Ashley Hall School.

Personal

Shea loves raising her three children, Madeline (13), Philip (11) and Louisa (9).  In her leisure time (if there is such a thing) she enjoys reading (especially in the mountains), traveling, and spending time with her family.
